Sponsorship of the Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy
Why sponsor the Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy?
Organisations are interested in sponsoring the Tunnelling and Underground Construction Academy (TUCA) because they:
-
Recognise that the tunnelling and underground construction industry faces a serious shortage of skilled local people which may impact upon their own project timescales and costs;
- Are supportive of TUCA’s aims and recognise its ability to respond to industry needs;
- Understand the need to work together to ensure the progression and modernisation of the tunnelling and underground construction industry which is experiencing a renaissance;
- Wish to fulfil their organisational Corporate Social Responsibility obligations;
- Want to create positive PR for their company, increasing visibility of their brand and marketability;
- Want to generate consumer preference and foster brand loyalty amongst those using TUCA and working in a similar target market;
- Want to create and foster good relationships with clients and potential clients;
- Wish to access other commercial benefits associated with sponsorship.
Types of sponsors
A number of different sponsors have been identified to partner with the two main sponsors of TUCA, Crossrail and the Skills Funding Agency.
Client Partners
The support of organisations in this category is critical to TUCA’s ongoing success. Organisations in this category will be clients in the tunnelling and underground construction industry, or employers of people in this field, committed to investing in the future of the industry in which they operate. They provide financial support to TUCA and also encourage their staff, contractors and sub-contractors to use the facility.
Industry Partners
Industry partners are contractors, providing specialist skills and labour to the industry’s clients. The protection, modernisation and progression of the industry is critical to their business and therefore they strongly support the Academy’s principles. They provide financial support to the Academy and work with their industry peers and their clients to ensure employees are trained to the best possible standard at the Academy.
Technology Partners
Technology Partners are organisations able to play an active role in helping the Academy deliver its training by providing equipment, software, strategic advice and expertise. The support of Technology Partners is critical in ensuring that the Academy contributes towards the modernisation and resurgence of the tunnelling and underground construction industry in the UK and provides a high quality learning environment. In doing so, they increase awareness of their products and services.
Plant and Equipment Partners
Plant and Equipment partners are those organisations able to provide operational support to the Academy, through the supply, maintenance and replacement of plant, equipment or materials necessary for the delivery of training. Their support is critical in ensuring the Academy offers the latest products and equipment for learners. In providing this support, they recognise that those being trained at the Academy will determine product use in the future.
Event and Exhibition Partners
Organisations providing support for events and exhibitions may already sponsor the Academy through another category, or may wish support a one-off event or exhibition hosted by or through the Academy. They will be interested in a particular event because of the additional promotional opportunities it may present, such as an industry forum, fundraising event or awards ceremony.
