NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management
The aim of the course is to equip candidates with the ability to carry out fire risk assessments of most low risk workplaces, and identify the range of fire protective and preventative measures required.
The course is suitable for people moving into fire safety adviser roles and may also be of benefit to fire service personnel developing their underpinning knowledge at part of the Integrated Personal Development System. It is aimed towards Managers and Supervisory staff who have passed the NEBOSH National General Certificate (or Paper A1/NGC1) within the last 5 years, and need to ensure that their organisation meets its responsibilities under fire safety legislation. Where delegates do not hold the NGC1, the NGC1 course and exam can be taken within 5 years of the FC1/FC2 Fire Exams. (Extra fees will be payable).
- Managing Fire Safety
- Principles of fire and explosion
- Causes and prevention of fires
- Fire protection in buildings
- Safety of people in the event of a fire
- Fire Risk Assessment
NEBOSH National General Certificate is desirable. Alternatively, the IOSH Managing Safely qualification can be a good base, in that case, the NEBOSH National General Certificate should be taken within 5 years.
1 two hour written paper and a practical assignment (based on current workplace requirements of each candidate).
This is a 6 day course, with the exam being taken on Day 7.
